Finding Courage

Should I be updating you regarding the submissions I have made and any acceptances or rejections I have received? Maybe. I will give you a bit extra this time, as I am playing catch up.

In March, I submitted and had privately published in the memorial membership newsletter The Lifted Lance:

  • "For Nu!" A poem written in 2002  for a former lover and dear friend who recently passed away.
  • "The Loving Crone" A photograph taken of said friend in 2013 at her retreat in Asheville, NC.

In April, I submitted nothing because I am a slacker.  Hence I need this blog to help me be accountable.  I did, however, outline several upcoming pieces.

In May, I submitted and am waiting to hear back from:

Cosompolitan.com -

  • "Take Your Time" An essay on attending college, my experience, and my opinions thereon.

"Broken Worlds" Anthology from A Murder of Storytellers -

  • "Death on a Sunny Day" A short story I wrote while on the train back from NOTOCON IX, which also prompted the creation of a cocktail of the same name, which I will post with the tag recipes.

Borderlands: Texas Poetry Review -

  • "Weather Madness" Inspired by the recent rains and floods in Texas (2015).
  • "Rejoice Fifteen" A 15 line, 15 syllable per line love poem (2013).
  • "Longing" A free form poem of longing and desire (2013).
  • "The Wild Wind" A poetic invocation to Oya to wreak Her particular style of havoc in my life (2003).  She did.  It worked.  Thank you, Lady.
  • "For Nu!" A poem written in 2002  for a former lover and dear friend who recently passed away.

Let us see if we can do even more in June!
